APG Directions and Information on Classes

How to Acquire an APG Access Pass

  • If you do not have an identification card that allows access to the post, you must enter APG via Route 715 East off Route 40 in Aberdeen (this is the overpass near the Wal-Mart).
  • When you enter post, Route 715 East becomes Maryland Boulevard. Before you reach the security gate to post, watch for a sign on the right for the Visitor’s Center.
  • At the Visitor’s Center, you will be asked to present your driver’s license and car registration. Staff at the Center will complete a NCIC Check which includes a background check which takes about 5 minutes provided the Center is not crowded.
  • You will then be provided with a pass that will allow you to enter APG for your classes. The APG Visitor Center hours are:
    • 6:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday – Thursday
    • 6:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. on Fridays.
  • Your class will be held in the Janet M. Barr Soldier Support Center, Building 4305, 6488 Rodman Road

Please note that this pass can ONLY be used to enter the Maryland 715 Gate.
