OWLNET IS HERE! Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, students and faculty will be able to login to OwlNet to access registration, HCC email and eLearning content all from one login.

For Credit Students
You should receive a letter in the mail with your HCC login information. To login to your account, visit http://owlnet.harford.edu and use the login you have been provided. If you did not receive a letter with login information, contact 443-412-2477 option 3 for the Technology Help Desk.

After logging in to OwlNet, click the tab titled "My Courses". You will see a list of your courses organized by semester. Click the title of the course you want to access, and your course will launch in a new window. Courses using Blackboard will launch the Blackboard website and take you directly to your course. Courses not using Blackboard will open Course Studio, which may contain further links or instructions.

NOTE: If you have taken a Blackboard course in a previous semester, you may have used a different web address to login to Blackboard. Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, you should only access Blackboard via OwlNet - using a different method may cause problems with your account.

For Noncredit & Histology Students
Noncredit students do not use OwlNet. Students enrolled in a noncredit course using Blackboard will login directly to Blackboard click here to login. Login information is sent via email approximately 1 week prior to the course start date. It is important to have a valid email address on file for you to receive this information in a timely manner. You can verify or change your email using SOLAR.

For Credit Faculty
To access your Blackboard courses for the Fall 2008 semester, you will login to OwlNet at http://owlnet.harford.edu. Your OwlNet login is the same as your HCC Network login (what you use to login to campus computers and your HCC email). After logging in to OwlNet, click the tab titled "My Courses". You will see a list of your courses organized by semester. Click the title of the course you want to access, and your course will launch in a new window. Courses using Blackboard will launch the Blackboard website and take you directly to your course.

The first time you access your Blackboard course via OwlNet, you will be be prompted to assign course content. Click here to access instructions about how to copy content into your course. Courses not using Blackboard will open Course Studio; please contact your technician for help using Course Studio or attend one of our upcoming workshops. Visit http://www.harford.edu/hr/training/training_opportunities.asp and follow the link for "OwlNet: Course Studio & Consolidated Courses". If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your technician or email irc@harford.edu.

HCC Faculty will also be able to access Blackboard via direct link to work on development courses or joint projects with other faculty. Access information will be emailed to you directly; if you did not receive this information, please contact your technician or email irc@harford.edu. Direct link information should not be shared with students enrolled in credit courses, as it may cause problems with their account.

Once you're in Blackboard, you can get to any course by clicking the "My HCC Blackboard" link on the upper right of the screen. This will be useful if you need to access courses that you created pre-integration, as you will not be able to access them via OwlNet.

For Noncredit Faculty
If you have previously taught a noncredit course and are attempting to access Blackboard, your login has changed due to the integration of credit Blackboard courses. Please email irc@harford.edu for current login information.
